For Users:

1. In what format are ebooks at Adamo Books available and what devices read them?

Our ebooks are available in PDF, Epub and PRC formats. PDF files are easy to read on desktop PCs. Since the pdf ebooks we sell on our site are not password-protected, they are easy to read on almost all ebook readers (Sony Reader, Bebook, Koobe, eSlick Reader, Kindle DX, etc.) and PDAs (provided Mobipocket Readers have been installed on them). According to software company Foxit, its software designed for mobile phones and ebook readers (Foxit Mobile Reader) has been preinstalled on the following devices: Samsung A711, L760, U700, Z170, Z240E.

2. Are there additional costs on purchasing ebooks at Adamo Books?

Only if the buyer requests an invoice...

If the buyer requests an invoice, he/she'll be sent a an invoice and will have to pay the postage on it.

3. What paying methods are available?

We offer

1. credit card payment through OTPDirekt (OTP Bank's payment service provider).

2. payment through bank transfer

Currently the minimal amount for the bank transfer is at HUF 5,00 or its equivalent in another currency.

4. What credit cards are accepted by OTPDirekt?

Visa Classic (embossed)

Visa Electron (not embossed)

MasterCard (not embossed)

5. Do prices include VAT?

Yes, they do.

6. What currencies are accepted at Adamo Books?

Any currency is accepted if it is accepted by OTPDirekt. To make the purchase process easier, prices are indicated in three currencies (EURO, HUF, USD).

7. What DRM (digital rights management) solutions does Adamo Books use?

We sell PDF and EPUB files. If a customer downloads a PDF ebook, the consumer's data will be copied into all pages of the PDF file, so we can track who has bought the file. We trust our customers - and we hope that they will respect our effort to make the files easier to read on different platforms as well.

8. How many products (e-books) can be bought and downloaded in one purchase?

A maximum of twenty products can be bought and downloaded in one purchase.

9. What personal details are users required to give out?

For registration: fist name, surname, address, phone number, e-mail address, password.

For purchasing through OTPDirekt: credit card number, expiring date, card verification code, card/card verification value (CVC2/CVV2), contact details.

For payment through bank transfer: you have already given out your personal details when you registered.

10. I have paid for the item, but I can not download it or I can not start the purchase process. What's the reason?

Generally, there are two reasons: the web browser is not updated (our site is displaying a warning if it is the case) or the virus buster considers the purchased file (cookie) as a virus and prevents the purchase process from taking place. We recommend you to switch off the virus buster (anti-virus software) while purchasing items on our site. Please, let us know if you have such problems.

11. How can Lyonnes members register at Adamo Books?

Lyonnes members should enter the barcode in the additional field of the registration form.

For Authors/Publishers:

1. Who can submit their works to Adamo Books?

Anybody can submit their works if they want their works to be distributed online. But, of course, we reserve the right to say the last word on this.

2. Are there any costs involved?

Yes, there are costs involved.

1. Authors are required to submit their works in the file formats that we require (Word or PDF) and this applies to ebook covers, too. It is the author's task to provide us with an ebook cover. If we create one, it is the author's responsibility to cover the costs. We recommend you to acquire the services of an online graphic designer.

2. Authors are required to pay a one-time storage and conversion fee.

Adamo Books undertake the digitization of books. The service which is available for HUF 80 + VAT per page , includes scanning and OCRing texts and converting them to Word or PDF documents. The works of authors who trust us for digitizing their books will be available for purchase at Adamo Books by request.

3. Does genre matter?

Genre doesn't matter and text size limitations are not significant.

4. How are authors notified of sales?

Authors/Publishers are notified of every transaction (every paid download) on a subpage created for authors/publishers to track download sales data.

5. How are authors paid?

Royalties are paid by transfer into the bank accounts of authors/publishers.

6. Can the cooperation agreement be terminated?

The terms of cooperation are defined in the agreement. They include the possibilty of the termination of the agreement, too.

7. Is there a deadline to join Adamo Books?

No, there isn't a deadline to join Adamo Books but we prefer authors with more titles to those submitting their first title. It's not discrimination, for us it makes more sense to do so.

8. How do we set download prices?

We set download prices in cooperation with authors/publishers. The amount of royalty depends on whether an author is willing to give us exclusive distribution rights or not.

9. What requirements do we have for manuscripts?

Text must be

- submitted in Microsoft Word or PDF

- justified

- grammatically revised

If possible, please have it proof-read by a professional.
